September 7th - 12:30pm - Bible Study at Lorrie Glowacki’s house - 1942 W 139th Terr, Leawood - Our study will be “The Prayer Shaped Disciple” by Dan Crawford.
Thursday morning -
August 26th - 9:00am - Brunch provided by the planning team along with the introduction of the fall Bible studies. We always have child care, so come join us this fall to learn God’s Word through one of the offered Bible studies.
Studies offered this fall:
“Proverbs”, Life Change Series led by Miriam Krause - The book of Proverbs contains a wealth of practical wisdom for everyday living. Its teachings are timeless, and they provide helpful guidelines on almost every aspect of personal conduct imaginable, including: goodness, folly, sin, wealth and poverty, the tongue, pride and humility, justice, vengeance, strife, gluttony, love, lust, laziness, friendships, the family, life and death. This study is a part of the Life Change Series of books of the Bible that help you grow in Christlikeness through a life-changing encounter with God's Word.
“Precepts Upon Precepts, James” by Kay Arthur, led by DeeDee Curran - A Faith That’s Real - What is true faith? How should you live the Christian life? Each verse of this practical study is alive with instructions, admonition, and encouragement. Learn God’s principles for dealing with trials, temptations, the tongue, and the pull of the world.
“Five Love Languages” by Gary Chapman, led by Pastor Burt Garwood - Dr. Gary Chapman, Christian marriage counselor and author of The Five Love Languages, helps married couples deal with their unmet needs for love. Because a husband and wife often have different communication styles, it is common for a spouse to not feel or recognize the love given to them. In his bestselling book, The Five Love Languages, Dr. Chapman identifies and explains five unique communication methods - Quality Time, Words of Affirmation, Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch. Then he encourages couples to learn how to speak love in their spouse's primary love language, not their own. Love is something you do for someone else, not yourself.
