Welcome to Kidz Lyfe Resources!
You have come to the right place to find answers to the question: What can I do this week to influence my child?
“God Time” is something parents should do each week with their kids.
There are four different devotions on each GodTime card. Each devotion is designed to be done on a different day.
Each day’s devotion includes:
- a verse(s) to read
- a devotion paragraph that teaches something about God and an explanation of today’s verse(s)
- an activity that makes real-life application of the day’s devotion
- a suggested prayer.
Even though kids in early elementary (Kindergarten through 3rd grade) are beginning to read things on their own, most are not mature enough to have a God time by themsleves. Parents should do this with your children.
Encourage kids to choose for different days during the week to do these devotions. Most 4th and 5th graders are capable of having a “quiet time” on their own, once they’ve been taught ho two do it, but they still need an adult to prompt them and/or follow up on it.
These cards communicate four things to parents:
- the month’s life app (virtue)
- the month’s memory verse
- the week’s Bible story
- a cue to prompt parents to connect with their kids each week
Parent Cues are available each Sunday morning at Kidz Lyfe Small Group time and Kidz Lyfe Worship.
The Parent Cue is a Morning Time, Meal Time, Drive Time, and Bed time cue for each month. By following these simple cues based on Deuteronomy 6:7 - “Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home, when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up” - a parent can make the most of everyday moments to instill faith and character in the heart of his or her child.
