Connecting people to God’s Word makes a world of difference at Lord of Life.
Through adult Bible study on Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:30 am, you can better understand the teachings of the Bible in addition to making new friends in a casual learning environment.
In most cases, three or four different Bible study classes (usually six weeks in length) are offered on Sunday mornings. A wide variety of topics is covered throughout the year and may include:
- World Views
- Raising Children
Fall Session -- September 10 - October 22
Desire and Deceit: The Real Cost of the New Sexual Tolerance - Lifetime monogamy is passé. Pornography infiltrates nearly every home. Homosexuality is accepted. Lust has been redefined. The family as an institution is questioned. We are reminded every day that assumptions about what is right and wrong, sexually, are different today than they were fifty - or even - ten years ago. Christian principles that formed the pattern for generations of American families are conspicuously absent. What happened and why? How do we respond to the dramatic shift in our culture's perspective on sex? Be equipped and inspired to speak the truth in a society hungry for answers. Led by Janet McElyea, Life Center
The Five Principles - Financial management can be a difficult topic in many people's lives. In this class, we'll learn the five principles that form a set of simple guiding values to help people manage money God's way. Practical money management tools will be covered as well. An excellent and economical book will be used as the basis for the class. Led by Paul Kirsch, LL104 & LL105
“I Am” - Statements of Jesus in the Gospel of John - It’s not about who you are. It’s about Jesus Christ. If you are searching for purpose, security and direction, you won’t find it in a deeper knowledge of self. Learn how to study the seven “I am” statements of Jesus. Know them, and you’ll really know Jesus. Led by Chris Drews, LL103
The Truth Project - Does God Exist? - September 10 - October 15 - You probably already have that question answered, but can you explain it and give reason to it? Parents, join your Collide student for this class. Led by Ray Jagels and Andrew Gunzelman, Collide Room
Roaring 20’s - “Crash the Chatterbox” - Learn to live out God's truth no matter what thoughts or circumstances mark your life. Learn how to replace negative internal chatter with the promises of God and walk through the issues of insecurity, fear, condemnation, and discouragement. Listening to God's voice above all others is the most important habit you can ever develop! Led by Jordan Hinmon, LL101
